| The HKU Roundtable on Sichuan Earthquake, a platform and network of members of the family of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) who want to contribute towards the relief and reconstruction effort, is to present its 4th Public Lecture tomorrow (July 19).
Among the speakers are two HKU scholars in geotechnical engineering and earth sciences, as well as a military health management expert of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The topics and speakers are:-
(1) "Landslide dams and earthquake lakes of Sichuan" - by Professor Lee Chack-fan, Chair Professor of Geotechnical Engineering, HKU
(2) "Sichuan Earthquake and Earthquake Prediction" -- by Professor Chan Lung-sang, Professor, Department of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Science, HKU
(3) "Crisis and Disaster Medical Operation of the People's Liberation Army - Hardware and Software, Strategies and Tactics" -- by Professor Zhang Lulu, Director, PLA Military Health Management Research Institute
