HKUL Reading Club: "The Challenge of Life in a Wheelchair" -Catherine Woo
 

Ms Catherine Woo suffered from polio when she was young. The Chinese book "The Challenge of Life in a Wheelchair" (《我在輪椅上挑戰命運》) is a biography of her life on the wheelchair, telling how her strong mind and positive attitude made her overcome the disabilities and become a successful business woman.

Her stories, as depicted in the book, also intertwined with the major episodes of the history of Hong Kong from 1941 to 1989 ─ from Japanese Occupation Era in 1940s, 1953's Shek Kip Mei Fire, 1967's Riot, to June-Fourth Movement.
