The Third Inauguration of Endowed Professorships at HKU

The Third Inauguration of Endowed Professorships will be held on April 14 Monday. The ceremony will be officiated by Dr Victor K K Fung, Chairman of Council, and presided by Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, Vice-Chancellor of HKU. Eight Endowed Professorships will be established (Please click here for the list of Endowed Professorships and Donors).

At the ceremony, the Mok Hing-Yiu Distinguished Visiting Professorships, a university-wide scheme in support of the appointment of international visiting professors, will be announced. The ceremony will also present the successive appointments to two Professorships.

An "Endowed Professorship" is one of the most significant awards bestowed upon eminent academics within the University of Hong Kong. The generous donation will become a perpetual endowment in a designated discipline, as the Endowed Professor upholds a proud tradition of excellence. A total of 33 Endowed Professorships have been established at HKU since 2005.

An Advisory Committee ensures the appointments to the Endowed Professorships are made in accordance with established University procedures. The Committee members include Dr Raymond Ch'ien (Chairman), Dr York Liao, Professor Felice Lieh-Mak and Dr Eden Woon.
