Challenges and Opportunities for the Post-Presidential Election in Taiwan
 
With Kuomintang regaining its governing status after the Taiwanese presidential election, what are the challenges and opportunities awaiting Taiwan? Professor Tuan Y. Cheng, Director, Institute of International Relations (IIR), of Taiwan's National Chengchi University, will share his views at the seminar.

Professor Cheng's research focus is mainly on international relations theory, US-Taiwan relations and American foreign policies. He has held various posts at IIR, including Deputy Director, Chair of the American and European Research Division, and Chief Editors of America Monthly and Issues & Studies (Chinese edition). He was a visiting scholar at the Pacific Forum - Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), an Asia-Pacific arm of the US think tank based in Hawaii, in 1992, and the George Washington University in 2002-03.
